Another fine weekend by PCC riders. Sorry if I missed anyone, but I pinched the following from Facebook:

Graham Wright – PB in Open TT.

By Christophe  –  Another good team result for the PCC today at the N&DCA Round 6. Kevin Hobbs finished 10th in 48:59, Paul Pardoe 6th in 48:11 and myself 3rd in 45:59. The rain started about 10mins before the first rider went off, and it was heavy enough to ensure the whole road was soaked for everyone! A relatively testing course with 205m of climbing over the 21mi, leaving the win to the in form featherweight Felix Barker of Cambridge Uni in 44:45 with a course record. Only 4 races left to secure our team win for the series.

By Ian Wild  –  Road Race results from this weekend: On Saturday Matthew Senter and Alan Brophy rode the VC Norwich 2/3 cat 65 mile road race. Matt was away in a break for a couple of laps but then after being caught was brough down in a crash, Alan finished just inside the points in 15th place.

On Sunday myself, Alan, Mark Hill, Steve Noel and Matt Garfield (Claire Garfield – so Matt sees this as he doesn’t do facebook!) rode the St Neots road race over 55 miles down near Sawtry. Matt attacked as soon as the neutralised zone was over on the first climb and took two other riders with him, this made for a fast first 5 miles as people tried to bring them back or get across. But the three of them kept a lead and that stayed between 30 secs and a minute for a couple of laps, then one of the riders in the break punctured making it hard work for Matt and the other rider. The rest of the PCC team blocked on the front of the bunch as much as possible to help the lead stay and then when they got close a couple of other riders bridged across. On the last lap the original rider of the break came back to the bunch leaving Matt and two others out there, then one more bridged across with 5 miles to go and he won it. Matt came in 4th and a bit disappointed but it was still a great result as he was the only rider to be away for the whole race. Alan and Steve finished in the bunch with me just off the back after cramping on the last lap. Mark climbed off with a lap to go when his legs gave up.
Marina Doroshenko took an excellent 6th place in the Letchworth Grand Prix ladies event for 2/3/4 cats, taking her closer to moving up a category.
