Rutland Cycling discount details.

After a full year of having the extra discounts from the Rutland Cycling Store in Peterborough, we are continuing with it this year, this is available to all ‘active’ first claim members of the club. Active just means that you participate in club activities or have done in the recent past; this just protects Rutland and the club from people joining the club for £20 to save potentially hundreds off a new bike or parts and then never do anything with the club. The discount scheme is as below:

  • 20% on clothing, accessories , parts and servicing
  • 15% on Bikes and Frames
  • 10% on Full Body Geometry Fitting to the riders racing in open events.

The discounts will only be honoured on the members own personal purchases and to those the club can verify are active within the club and up to date with their club subscriptions. Rutland will hold a list. But if you have any problems then contact Ian Wild on ianw6169@hotmail.com or Bruce Brainbridge on bbrainbridge@sky.com

All discounts only apply to full priced items not sale items, or the greater discount at the time would apply if deemed better.

Purchases for family and friends, 10% discount as long as the member declares this and is present or makes the purchase themselves.

LVRC road race – Sunday 19th May 9.30am.

To be held at Southwick on Sunday May 19th, organised by Ian Wild and once again helpers will be needed. More details to follow nearer the time.

N&DCA time trial – Saturday 8th June.

Dave Yarham is organising the club’s round of the Northampton & District Cycling Association time trial series, which the club has been extremely successful in the last two years winning the overall team event and some individual championships and event wins. Dave will be looking for helpers nearer the time.

Committee meetings

The club committee meet every month to discuss club matters and make improvements to the club. The meetings are held on the 3rd Tuesday of every month at 8pm at the Scout hall on Mountsteven Avenue, Peterborough. If any member wants to come along they are welcome to, or if they have suggestions or matters they want to be discussed then send them in to the club Secretary Bruce Bainbridge on bbrainbridge@sky.com

Event Helpers.

As you can see from the list above the club is extremely active in promoting events. These all need a great deal of work put in by the individual organisers, but also they rely on the help of club members. It is an expectation that every club member helps out with at least one open promotion per year.
