John French won the Scratch '20' event on Thurday 12th June, clocking

47:59 with Nick Smith  2nd with 49:42 and Nick Sayer 3rd with 51:05.

  At the 7.4 mile time check after the first loop around

 Helpston, Bainton, Ufford John was 50 seconds up on

 Nick but at the finish 12.6 miles later he had only put

 another 53 secs into Nick who finished with 49:42.

 With this win John closes the gap by 4 points on

 Nick in the Championship.

Next week it's the Scratch '10' at Stilton and John will be looking for another win.
