Despite set backs with idiot motorists and the BC photo finish not showing up, John Dawson and his team of club members did a great job of organising and running the open road races on Sunday 9th September. The Elite race split in 2 early on, with the lead half pulling out a large lead. On the last lap Roy Chamberlain of Phil Corley Cycles split the group and powered to victory ahead of K. Gilham of Clifton CC, Kay, Jennings and Eagers with Dave Clarke leading the group home for 6th. In the 3/4 Malcolm Smith and Kings Lynn's N. Piccoli went clear with 1 lap to go and were joined by I. Church. In the sprint for the line it was Piccoli who took the victory from Smith and Church. A big thank you to the Commissaires and all those who gave up their time on Sunday to enable others to race and to all those spectators who became assistant Judges. |
