Minutes May 07 - 2007/06/01 07:46 Minutes of the Peterborough Cycling Club
Committee Meeting
Held on 14th May 2007

Members present:
John McCarthy,, Tim Cockerell, Dave Yarham, Norman Hill, Joe Ippolito, Nick Smith, John Dawson, Rod Auckland

Apologies:
Jeremy Harrison, Richard Roach, Keith Steiner, Alex Harrison

The Minutes of the previous Committee Meeting were agreed to be a true record of that meeting.

Matters Arising:

Keith Steiner had asked that the Club’s dissatisfaction with BC’s handling of the move to Eastern Region should continue to be expressed, albeit it is probably a fait-accompli. In particular they should be asked to show what benefits the Club would get from the move. He would continue to liaise with Alex over the matter.

We are still trying to arrange the “Come and Try” event, but having difficulties in booking an HQ. It was agreed to look at a new date of Thursday 19th July, if necessary sacrificing the 10 planned for that evening.
Action: Secretary

A few places remained on the trip to the Tour de France.

The web site forum had been opened up to non-members. It will be monitored closely for signs of abuse.

The latest Newsletter had been issued by e-mail, and was on the web. Those needing to be posted would be sent soon.

Nick agreed to speak with Jeremy and Ian Wild about the organisation of the NCRA RR on 19th June; it was important that this was sorted out soon, as the time was approaching.
Action: Nick Smith

Selection of a suitable Bernard Kelly memorial trophy was in hand.

The Chairman reported that the Club had donated £125 to charity in memory of Bernard Kelly, and read a letter from his son thanking the Club, noting that Miriam was happy for the trophy in Bernard’s name to go ahead. He also noted a letter of thanks from Annie Corrigan for a donation.

Treasurer’s Report:
All was well, with £1,104 in the current account and £267 on deposit. The Treasurer agreed to look at interest rates being attracted, and would report back.
Action: Treasurer

Time-Trial Secretary’s Report:
Recent Club events were reported, and he had received some reports of members competing in open events.

Any Other Business:
The Secretary noted difficulties in discovering members’ views on such matters as the Prize Presentation event. While we don’t wish to harass members, we need to have some idea of their views. A possible means would be a questionnaire circulated to all members, but this needed careful thought. A draft would be considered at the next Committee Meeting.
Action: Secretary

Date of the next meeting: 18th June. There being no further business the meeting closed at 2050.
