Events in 2009: It was agreed that Prizegiving would involve a similar format to last year, in the same venue, but starting at 1300; date Sunday 7th February. During the year the Club would run an open road race, 2 open time trials, and 2 NCRA events, as well as the usual Club TTs, social runs and events.
Sportives: Simon Hodson outlined his proposal to coordinate Club participation in Sportives next year, with the help of Phil Cavanagh. This was welcomed, and a system would be developed and refined as the season progressed.
Club Subscriptions: The Committee recommended that there should be no change in subscriptions for 2010, and this was unanimously agreed.
The Clubroom: It was important that good use was made of the first Monday of the month for Club nights, the third being used for Committee meetings. It was hoped that some members would organise events to attract greater attendance. Election of Officials and Committee for 2009: The President, Chairman, Vice Chairman, Secretary, Club Captain, Quartermaster, Treasurer and Time Trial Secretary were all willing to continue in post; there being no other nominees for these posts, their continued services were confirmed. Jeremy regretted that he had to resign as Road Race Secretary, and was thanked for his contribution. Nick Smith had volunteered to take over and his appointment was confirmed. Nick Sayer was appointed as the new Press Secretary, as Ian had resigned; Ian was thanked for his contribution to the Club in this role. Three new Committee members were elected – Simon Hodson and Phil Cavanagh (joint Sportive coordinators) and Gregg Siggs, and Terry Wright had resigned. Gary Gwynn was not present, but had rarely attended meetings, so was dropped from the Committee. There was no change to the Club’s timekeepers, handicappers would be Rod, Dave and Chris. The Kelly Cup winner would be decided by Rod, Dave and Nick Smith. Matt continued to run the web site and received a vote of thanks for his work.
Any Other Business: • Keith highlighted the lack of off-road facilities in the area, and the need to press for such developments. • Rod offered to give a talk on Club history one Monday evening next year. • Graham Hicks mentioned his offer of good prices for new bikes, and suggested advertising the Club in such venues as health clubs.
