Committee Meeting
Held on Monday 13th July 2009

Members present:
Richard Roach, Tim Cockerell, Joe Ippolito, Rod Auckland, Chris Harwood, John Savill.

Apologies:
John McCarthy, Jeremy Harrison, Keith Steiner, David Yarham.

April Minutes:
The Minutes of the previous Committee Meeting were agreed to be a true record of that meeting.

Matters Arising:
None.

Correspondence:
Alison Lilley had kept Secretary informed of progress to establish the case for further cycling events at the East of England Showground.

Open 15:
The Open 15 on 45h June had gone well, despite the disappointing number of entries.

Road Race Points:
After a bit of a battle, and with good support from Eastern Region, BC has agreed to upgrade points for the Road Race from Band 3 to Band 2.

Club Duties:
When Alex retired from the Committee, Secretary took over Trophies on a temporary basis. He would appreciate it if someone else would take on this largely seasonal job.

Treasurer’s Report:
Two members who had taken part in Club activities this year had still not paid their subscriptions; action was in hand to sort this out. Otherwise all was well with some £1,194 in the current account, the only known liability being the balance to pay when clothing was delivered. Deposit remained at £281.

Quartermaster’s Report:
Richard expected delivery of new clothing in the next few weeks, of which over £200 worth had been pre ordered.

Road-Race Secretary’s Report:
Road Race Secretary was not present.

Time Trial Secretary’s Report:
David was attending the SE Midlands TT Meeting that evening; he had asked for the need for marshals and support for the Open 10 TT on 29th August to be noted.

Press Secretary’s Report:
Press Secretary was not present.

Any Other business:
• Three new members were accepted by the Committee.
• The Committee agreed to make a sponsorship donation of £25 to member Graham Hicks’s London to Paris bike ride in August in aid of Sense, the deafblind charity.
• Joe wondered if Club members were considering riding this year’s Oxford to Cambridge or Cat and Fiddle events.

John Savill wanted to record the following:
I would to thank everybody in the Peterborough Cycling Club that sent their best wishes and their support after my accident.
A special thanks to Dave Yarham and Andy Cleathero who took the time in coming to the hospital on the night of the accident, to return some of my clothing, and also to thank Gary Glynn for the safe keeping of my bike. To Tim a special thank you in keeping the Club informed by email on my condition.
It has been a great comfort to Jen and I knowing that Club members have genuine thoughts for my well being. It gave me strength for a quick recovery when Jen came into visit, she would tell me all the phone calls she received from the members. In honesty it was quite emotional.
It has been most appreciated.

Date of the next Committee meeting: 21st September.

There being no further business the meeting closed at 2030.
