2010 was the best year for the Thursday night ‘10’ Leagues with 204 rides over the 14 weeks. There were many new members but Peter Moulding (15 years old) joined us on the 22nd of April and posted a ride of 29’07” but by the end of the season he had knock that down to 26’09” and won the Handicap League. Some statistics can be found here STATS giving information on the season long Thursday night Leagues. |

The final race of the Thursday night league was run off in appalling conditions Thursday, with rain, lots of standing water and a stiff cold North East breeze. Steve Milne took the Handicap win from Matt Clarkson in 2nd place. Peter Moulding finishing in last place of the four that rode, having ridden the last 2 miles on a flat front tyre, did enough to take the League Title by 3 points from Joe Brierley. Nick Sayer clocked up his 11th win of the season in the scratch event & won the Vets event again but both of these titles were wrapped up back in July by Nick. Result & Final Standings

The penultimate round of the 10 League was run of on Thursday night in wet conditions. Only 6 riders braved the weather to face the timekeeper and it was Peter Moulding that took the win with a 30 second beating of his handicap, from Sean Murphy in 2nd place. This win puts Peter in a position to win the league next week if he rides. He has to drop 15 points next week so to overtake Joe Brierley he needs to score at least 20 points. That means he has to finish 6th or better on handicap. Peter’s last 7 rides have scored better than 20 points so I think that makes him favourite! Nick Sayer won the scratch event but already has maximum points so does not increase his lead. Nick also won the Vets event he was the only Vet to ride. Results & Standings |
