The final leg of the Hereward Series was run on Wednesday 18th July. Mike Taylor needed to finish in second place to win the series, but it turned out to be to much for Mike. He was off the pace but managed to hang on to his 2nd place overall. Andrew Alexander who was laying 3rd going into the last race finally finished 5th although he did not ride the last event. Would you like to give cycle racing a go? Peterborough Cycling Club is holding a "come and try it" time trial event on Thursday 19th July, at 18:30. The course is 6.5 miles long, starting from Helpston Scout Hall, and goes through the villages of Helpston, Bainton, Ufford and finishes just before Helpston. Entry is free. Refreshments are provided. You must be aged 12 or over, have a signed consent form if you are under 18, helmets are advisable, but not compulsory, and any roadworthy bike is acceptable. The season long battle between Nick Smith & Dave Yarham continued on Thursday night with Nick taking the Rimes Cup win from Dave by just 17 seconds. Nick still leads the Championship by just 3 points from Dave and it will all be decided at one of the hill climbs now, but we will not know the outcome untill possibly November. Result & Table |
