Were off & Running

Thursday night was the first ‘10’ of this year and there was a good turnout with

12 club members and 5 Private Trials.

Richard Gamman took the win in the Handicap event, while John French  took wins

in the Scratch & the new Vets event.

Mike Ledlie (Senoir) also had a good start, taking 2nd place in both Handicap event and

Scratch event.

There were 5 Private Trial riders this week:

 B.Harwood Scott/Westbrook Cycles 22’30”
 C.Rimes Fenland Clarion   24'54"
 P.Frost Fenland Clarion   27'55"
 S.Pidduck Fenland Clarion   29'13"
 M.Buck (W) Private Trial 29'26"

It's a Tie

The final round of the winter '10's was run off on Saturday in near gale force Northerly winds, but a

good turn out saw Nick Sayer ride a personel  best for the Helpston course of 24'07" to make him

unbeaten in the Scratch League this Winter. He also won the Handicap event and gained himself a

handicap cut. Nick Hitchens had a good ride to be only 20 seconds of his P.B round Helpston to

take 2nd place. This gave him enough points to pull level with G.Siggs in the Handicap League and

means the Handicap Winter League Title is shared by Greg & Nick.

Ther were 2 Guest riders this week:

                                                           P.Davis    0:24:33  (St.Ives.c.c)
                                                          C.Rimes    0:24:49  (Fenland Clarion)

Result & Final League Standings

Changes to Summer ‘10’ League

There will be some slight changes to the Summer ‘10’ League for 2009 to

try and make it more competitive. These changes are as described below.

*    Handicaps will be exact. There will be no rounding to the nearest 15 seconds.

*    Points will be awarded 20 for the win then 19,18,17 etc. down to 1

*    The handicaps will be phased in over the first 3 weeks. This will be done by using an average of the last 5 recorded times for the first week. Then for week 2 an average of the last 4 rides plus the 1st weeks ride. Then an average of the last 3 rides plus week’s 1 & 2 times. Then an average of the last 2 rides plus week’s 1, 2 & 3 times. The handicap at that point will be used until it is beaten.

These changes will take effect from the start of the League on April 16th 2009.

There will also be a new race category run in conjunction with the Handicap & Scratch League this year.

This will be a Vets Standard League.

To be eligible for this category you must be over 40 years of age.

If you wish to participate in this league then please let Chris Harwood or Tim Cockerell know your Birth Date so you can be given your Vets Standard Time.

You can see the vet’s standard times on the CTT web site:   CTT Website

Points will be awarded as they are for the other two leagues & the best 8 results will count.
